plEDGE

College of the Desert is pleased to offer students the opportunity to take the plEDGE! The plEDGE Program provides 2025 high school graduates (or equivalent) from the Coachella Valley* with two full years of free tuition and fees at College of the Desert!

Participating students must complete the following requirements:

• Complete the Summer Engagement Requirement. 
• Full-time enrollment during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Students with disabilities may be eligible to take fewer than 12 units with DSPS counselor approval.
  • Students who are currently employed full-time may be exempt from being enrolled in 12 units.
  • Students who are pursuing a certificate may be exempt from being enrolled in 12 units, based on the program of study.
• Maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.0+).
• Participate in 10 hours of community service, mentoring, or internships.
• Check-in with an Outreach Specialist before the end of their first semester.
• Attend a career pathway workshop at the COD Career and Workforce Solutions Center.
• Submit a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application that is received by the COD Financial Aid Office, and have a completed Financial Aid File by December 16, 2025. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a hold being placed on the student's account, as well as the student being financially responsible for their tuition and fees.
