The Chancellor’s Office stands with the undocumented members of the California Community College community, and reaffirms the following principles:

• The California Community Colleges are open to all students who meet the minimum requirements for admission, regardless of immigration status.

• The Chancellor’s Office will not release any personally identifiable student information, including any data related to immigration status, without a judicial warrant, subpoena or court order, unless authorized by the student or required by law.

• The Chancellor’s Office will not cooperate with any federal effort to create a registry of individuals based on any protected characteristics such as religion, national origin, race, or sexual orientation.

• The Chancellor’s Office will continue to advocate for educational opportunities for all students in the community college system, regardless of immigration status, at the state and federal level.

As a leader in higher education, the 23-campus California State University is committed to ensuring academic opportunities are available to all the state's students, regardless of citizenship status.

If you are an undocumented student, there are many resources available to you - from grants, loans and scholarships to legal and campus support services.

These young people, brought to this country as children, have overcome countless hurdles to arrive at UC and at other institutions of higher learning throughout our nation. We will continue to provide them with essential legal and support services to guide them through these uncertain times and to safeguard their privacy. As leaders of the University of California, we will do everything in our power to help DACA recipients and their supporters keep the program alive as we advocate for legislation that provides a long-term and morally just solution to this untenable situation.
