About CTE Transitions
CTE Transitions (formerly known as Tech Prep) is a technical and academic preparation
program that enables high school students to prepare for a career and college at the
same time. Students can even earn college credits while still in high school!
CTE Transitions is a bridge that connects learning to careers. It provides students
with the technical skills, knowledge, and attitudes in preparation for high skill
in wage or high demand occupations in current and emerging professions.
Who is a CTE Transitions Student?
A student who begins a series of CTE classes (usually during the eleventh 0r twelfth
grade year) and then transfers to a community college to complete an additional two

certificate.
Students benefit by:

- Improving the transition from high school to college
- Not repeating classes in college
- Higher graduation rates
Teachers & parents benefit from having students who:
- Are motivated
- Perform better in class
- Have higher attendance rates
- Understand the relevance of what they learn
