Home Health Aide Local Certificate
The Home Health Aide program prepares men and women to assist with the routine care and treatments of clients in their homes. These services include personal health care as well as food purchasing, meal planning, laundry, and light housekeeping. Successful completion of the program results in eligibility to take the state approved tests that lead to certification as a Home Health Aide.
The course of study includes 27 hours of classroom instruction and 27 hours of supervised clinical experience. Students wishing to enter the program must be certified as a nursing assistant in California. Specific information regarding the program may be obtained by contacting the Office of Health Sciences & Education.
Home Health Aide certificate is locally approved and is NOT notated on the student's academic transcript in accordance with the State regulations.
